Saying Yes

Sign in Dumbo, Brooklyn, 2010

This sign appeared in my neighborhood about two years ago.  It inspired me to keep going, dreaming, creating and listening to my intuition.  Twice, I have heard the advice:  “Just say ‘Yes’ to an opportunity and then figure it out as you go!”  My grandmother always said this and Joan Lunden attributed her life as a television journalist, talk show host, author and mother to this stategy when I heard her speak at a conference called Dream it!  Launch it!  Live It!  It is not easy to say “Yes” to a dream that scares you, that you have doubts about, and in many ways, your life would be easier by not doing.  I am both excited and scared to start The Gratitude House.  Being grateful and making things have always made my life better.  I am compelled to share these passions with children and collaborate with artists, musicians, writers, poets, composers, dancers, choreographers, actors, directors, film makers and anyone who is interested in helping realize this dream.

  1. This work is so important…
the possibility of inspiring a child, life-long.
Keep being the role model you were meant to be.
Nothing but good will come of it.
    Much Gratitude!
    Bob
